These abnormal diets have found acceptance in modern societies and this has led to bulimic behavior in the sub-clinical form. There can be no denying that the desire to remain thin, by attempting to restrict weight, is the trigger for the disorder. Bulimia has an effect on the emotions of the individual with the disorder and prevents the experiencing of uneasy feelings owing to the bulimic behavior. This is a paradox, as bulimia is the cause of their out of control behavior, and yet, is the only means for feeling that they are in control of the situation. The inherent dread of remaining without this protection is the reason that the bulimic behavior is maintained and gradually increases in severity to hold sway over all other emotional experiences. Diagnosis of bulimia nervous is not an easy task, as the bulimic individual tends to hide the disorder. All the same, there are several symptoms that indicate the disorder. Recurrently occurring binge eating is the first. Binge eating may be considered as the consuming of an amount of food, during a specific period of time that is definitely larger than is normal for most people during the same period given, given that the circumstances are similar.
